Halal Scanner is a digital reference tool, NOT a Fatwa-issuing body or religious authority.

The app analyzes product data based on algorithms and available databases. It cannot account for unlisted reformulation, contamination in supply chains, or specific manufacturing deviations. The final decision to consume any product rests solely with you.

These Terms of Service ("Terms") constitute a legally binding agreement between you ("User") and Simulator Arts LLC, a limited liability company organized under the laws of United States ("Company"). By accessing or using the Halal Scanner application ("App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. Nature of the Service & "As-Is" Provision

The App uses optical character recognition (OCR), artificial intelligence, and third-party databases to identify potential additives (E-codes) and ingredients. You acknowledge and agree that:

No Guarantee of Accuracy: Data is provided "AS IS" without warranty of any kind. Manufacturers may change ingredients without notice. A product scanned as "Safe" today may be different tomorrow.
AI Probability: AI-driven analysis is probabilistic. It may misinterpret text or fail to detect obscured ingredients.
Advisory Role: The App acts solely as an assistant. It does not replace your personal due diligence or consultation with religious scholars.

2. Data Handling & Crowdsourcing

To improve accuracy for the entire community, the App utilizes a crowdsourcing model:

User Submissions: If you verify a product or correct an error, you grant the Company a perpetual, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, modify, and distribute that data to other users.
Correction Mechanism: We reserve the right to verify, reject, or modify user-submitted data at our sole discretion.

3. Accounts, Subscriptions & Payments

Certain features may require a paid subscription.

Platform Processing: Payments are processed directly by the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. The Company does not store your financial information.
Refunds: Refund requests are subject to the policies of the respective store (Apple or Google). Simulator Arts LLC cannot directly issue refunds for store-processed transactions.
Changes: We reserve the right to change pricing or subscription features with reasonable notice.

4. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL SIMULATOR ARTS LLC BE LIABLE FOR:

Religious or Spiritual Damages: Any distress or consequences arising from the inadvertent consumption of non-Halal items.
Health Issues: Allergic reactions or health issues. The App is NOT a medical device and does not guarantee the detection of all allergens.
Indirect Damages: Any punitive, incidental, or consequential damages arising from the use of the App.

5. Indeminification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Simulator Arts LLC, its officers, and employees from any claims arising out of your reliance on the App's data or your violation of these Terms.

6. Dispute Resolution & Governing Law

PLEASE READ THIS SECTION CAREFULLY. IT AFFECTS YOUR LEGAL RIGHTS.

Governing Law: These Terms shall be governed by the laws of the United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.
Jurisdiction: You agree that any legal action or proceeding shall be brought exclusively in the federal or state courts located in the United States.
Class Action Waiver: You waive any right to participate in a class action lawsuit against the Company.

7. Manufacturers & Trademarks

Product names, logos, and brands cited in the App are the property of their respective owners. Their use is for identification purposes only and does not imply endorsement.
